Omnibus F4 Pro Corner wiring (no arming)

I am building a tricopter.
I am totally new to this sport and I am having major problems getting the props to spin.
I have the OmnibusF4FW Pro Corner flight controller and Flysky FS-i6S transmitter with its associated FS-iA6B receiver.
I have (3) individual 30Amp ESCs
1800 mAh 11.1v 3S battery, because that is the size battery that fits between the top and bottom plates.
I can get to the Betaflight configurator and I can even change and save the settings, but none of this seems to make the motors turn. Instead, the lights on the FC just beep at me and flash blue and green.
On checking, only the Blue light flashes when connected to the computer, the green light stays steady.
Then, when I attach the battery, It all to beep. After a quick tra-la-la of beeps to acknowledge that the battery has been plugged in, it then keeps up a steady sequence of beep beep (pause for 1.5 seconds) beep. repeat ad infinauseum.
While this beeping is going on, the motors will all (at different times) give a tiny shrug and then return to original position.
Meantime, the receiver red LED is giving a flash about once a second.
I made a small video and a jpg of my connections but I cannot see how to attach anything here.
Betaflight configurator can definitely see the drone, because when I click on 'Calibrate Accelerometer the drone levels on the screen.
I also issued a dump command and put all this info on the end.

Lots of information and dumps and I can see your problem…

MSP - you can’t arm when connected to Betaflight ( its a safety feature )
CLI - same as above but your also in CLI ( you have to be for the dump )

But your real problem is RXLOSS… betaflight is not detecting your RX (FS-iA6B receiver)

It looks like you haven’t configured betaflight yet… not a problem we have a guide for that.

Has your Rx been bound to your Transmitter?

It may be that it isn’t detecting it because I have wired it up incorrectly.
The receiver is meant to be prebound to the transmitter. I will do it again right now. Yep, all correctly bound. :slight_smile:
I have used J1 for the connection as this allows for 5v for the receiver.
I told Betaflight that I was using uart3 and I have enabled that in the ports.
To do this, plugged one end of the board on to a header I soldered onto the Omnibus, and I connected the other end to CH3 on the receiver. I am not sure whether this is correct.
I will go through the link you sent me and if it still is not working, then I will get back to you again.

If you have trouble geting the FC to recognise your PPM receiver, here is what you need to do. You need to enable RX_serial in the GUI and turn UART3 on. Save and reboot the flight controller. Then re-selecting RX_PPM again on the GUY and the FC now communicates with your PPM receiver

I can’t find a PPM pin on your board… you could try and connect to J27 and configure for UART 1

Ah no, you meant J1 didn’t you? The print is very small
J27 only supplies 3volts. The iA6B says it requires 4.0 to 8.4 volts
It is currently set up on J27.
I only have the one connector going to the receiver. It has 3 wires Gnd/Pos/Sig. This is currently plugged in to ppm/Ch1. Is this correct?
in the ports section,The USB VCP is turned on (A message says to NEVER turn it off) (I won’t)
Apart from this, UART3 is turned on in the Serial RX box. Nothing else on this page
On the configuration page, it is set up for a tricopter, and below in the ‘Receiver dropdown’ I have set it to PPM RX Input
I wasn’t sure what to set the ESC type to, but I am using OneShot 125. I need advice here.
In PID tuning, One turn rotation is turned on by BC

Motors … I understand the risk and set the motor master switch to 1121

I set it all up as you previously suggested but it still doesn’t work

I note that at the bottom right hand corner of the diagram, it says that all 4 of the ESC telemetry ports are on UART1_RX
does this make a difference?

Just to the left of the J6 Gnd connector there is supposedly a resistor (R41). It is missing on my board.
This resistor controls the UART3 high/low.
The manual also says that I can pull PC9 low in software, but it doesn’t actually say how.
Maybe I should set UART6 to 5v and try it there?
Then again, I don’t know if UART6 is inverted or not. How would I test for that?

Ok. I see what your saying there…

J1 for the POS and NEG then J27 for the signal wire.
Don’t turn off VCP on UART1 (that’s bad) but you can still enable RX (UARTS have a TX and RX (i think USB uses TX)

If you don’t turn on ESC telemetry you can still use the port for you RX.

As for your ESC’s what are they? do you know?

I honestly cant recall on the omnibus pro corner… but if it did support PPM it would most likely be on UART3 (the same pin as SBUS). But then again fewer and fewer FC are support PPM nowadays so maybe the pro corner does not. I will talk to the designer and see if he still remembers too :stuck_out_tongue:

@wasteofspace I would first suggest you make sure your RX is bound to your radio first (the LED on your reciever should show that it is bound (the manual should say what the bind LED is as I cant remember). Also to attach pictures you can just copy and paste into the text area, or use the upload button :slight_smile:

The ESCs don’t have a name on them, just a sticker saying 30A
I am certain that the RX and the transmitter are actually talking to one another, because when I try to turn off the transmitter it won’t turn off until I turn off the iA6B. As soon as I turn that off, the transmitter shuts itself off.
Also … The RX sign on the transmitter usually had the receiver at half strength. It now shows as empty if I turn off the receiver
