Hi
I use individual wires with terminals on both ends.
Only four are needed …
GND to GND
+5v to +5v (may be marked Vpp or similar)
TX to RX
RX to TX (yes, these are reserved)
Set voltage to 5v (not 3.3) if your FTDI board has a switch
You’re good to go
