Hi Johnny,

Oh no, that’s really frustrating to hear about your GepRC Vapour, especially after only having it for a couple of weeks and it flying fine before. I can imagine how disappointing it must be to see what looks like a burnt flight controller.

You’re right, a burnt MCU (the main chip on the flight controller) is a tricky one. We’re currently waiting to hear back from GepRC on a similar case. Typically, they see issues like this when there’s been an external short – sometimes from things like damp long grass, debris, or an unfortunate crash. This can make warranty claims a bit more complex, as they often view it as external damage.

To help us make the strongest possible case for you with GepRC, could you snap a few more photos showing the overall condition of the quad? This will give us a good picture to share with them and show how the drone has been looked after.

As soon as we have those, we’ll get in touch with GepRC directly and see what they advise. We’ll keep you in the loop!

Kind Regards,

Thanks for the photos, I am not sure why they were flagged, but we have send this off to GepRC now so we should ahve an update from them shortly about the next steps, we have asked if they can authorise a replacement FC under warranty, but they may ask to check a few more things to establish the cause of the fault etc… I will keep you updated as soon as we hear back from them.

Kind Regards

Hiya just wondering if there is un update please been like 2 weeks since I first posted

Hi good day Johnathan,

I really do apologise for the lengthy delay here. As far as I can see we have not had a reply from GEPRC. I have sent Andy a message on their company Wechat number and asked for assistance. If we don’t hear back by tomorrow I will follow up with the boss and get this sorted out for you.

Again, I do apologise for the delay.

If there is anything else I can help with please do let me know.

Regards,
David

Hi david any update please I really wanna get this drone back up and running I even bought a new flight controller and just as my luck it’s not working I’m starting to get annoyed if I’m honest

Hi Johnathan,

Thank you again for your continued patience while we’ve been working on your warranty claim with GEPRC.

I’m very sorry to report that despite several follow-ups and appeals for leniency, GEPRC has ultimately rejected the fault claim. Their technical team concluded that the damage appears consistent with exposure to moisture – likely due to flying or landing in wet grass – which they consider outside of warranty coverage.

We completely understand how frustrating this must be, especially considering you’ve already gone ahead and purchased a replacement flight controller in an attempt to get your drone back in the air. Please know that we did everything we could on our end to advocate for a favourable outcome, but unfortunately GEPRC was firm in their assessment.

That said, we’re still here to help.

Since your new flight controller also isn’t working, we’d like to assist in diagnosing that issue. Could you please send us the following?

  • A few clear photos of the new flight controller, especially any areas that might show damage or unusual signs.

  • A short description of what’s happening when you try to use it (e.g., no power, not detected in Betaflight, unusual beeps, etc.)

  • Any setup details you’ve already tried (power source, USB cable, motors connected or not, etc.)

We know this has been a frustrating experience, but we’re committed to helping you get flying again however we can.

Kind regards,
David
