Order Number: NA-4143914
Product Name: Betafpv Air65 Brushless Whoop Quadcopter
Brand: BetaFPV
Air65 whoop drone with faulty esc. Drone arrived and was test flown for no more than 30 seconds. No crashing or manoeuvring, only to test functionality. Shortly after upon attempting to rearm after a power cycle, one motor failed to turn accompanied by a strong smell of burnt electronics. The same battery was used both times. I suspect one of the motor phases failed.
Power cycling, different batteries. The smell made it clear that this was a hardware failure.
Hi good day,
I am sorry to hear you are struggling with your drone. I have reached out to the manufacturer with your description and video. I have asked for their technical department to take a look at this for us and provide some feedback.
As soon as I hear back I will come back to you.
If there is anything I can help with in the meantime, please do let me know.
Regards,
David

Hi good day,
I have been chatting with Antony from BetaFPV he asked if you could confirm if it is the motor or ESC causing the issue? Would you be able to swap the motor on that ESC channel with a confirmed working motor to isolate the issue?
Hope this helps.
If there is anything else we can help with please do let us know.
Regards,
David

Hi,
Unfortunately, I am no longer at University, so I lack physical access to the drone at this time, however this was a test we conducted on the day we discovered the issue. Apologies for not mentioning this in the initial support query. Combined with the terrible smell of burnt electronics, I am quite confident the issue does not lie with the motor and instead is to with the ESC integrated on the main PCB.
There are still people at University that could perform tests or returns on my behalf if required.
If it is possible to receive a replacement flight control board, we would be happy to perform the replacement ourselves. Please let us know what is most convenient.
