The ESP32 device works fine disconnected to the board and I was testing with a simple Blink application connected to an LED and 270 Ohm resistor.

It appears to get very hot under the ESP device and is not powering up. When I disconnect the ESP from the expansion board the circuit works fine. It seems to be an issue with the Expansion board. No LEDS light up on the Expansion board when I connect USB power to the ESP device.
ESP32 works fine with Blink and external LED and 270 ohm resistor when disconnected to the Expansion board so I do not believe I have wired it incorrectly.
