Caddx's Positive Reviews Only Agreement: A Threat to FPV Integrity?

This is a companion topic for our recent blog post on blog.unmanned.tech

It seems Caddx has stirred the pot a bit in the FPV community with their latest antics. Ian from MadsRC has bravely lifted the veil on Caddx’s decidedly draconian NDA, which not only silences creators but also threatens them with a jaw-dropping $100,000 penalty for any slip of the tongue. Apparently, this restrictive agreement is so severe that Ian decided to give Caddx’s products a wide berth—missing out on the release of several items in the process.

But the real kicker? It appears that Caddx has recently taken to requiring reviewers to dish out only glowing reviews, effectively demanding they put on rose-tinted glasses when discussing their gear. Fellow creator Albert Kim isn’t having any of it and has publicly declared he’ll no longer review Caddx products—a move that should make even the most stoic of us raise an eyebrow. This kind of behaviour is pretty much unheard of in the FPV world, and it’s leaving many feeling rather uneasy about where things are headed.

Ian’s warning is clear: such heavy-handed tactics may not only tarnish Caddx’s reputation but risk compromising the integrity of the entire FPV community. Trust is rather difficult to rebuild once broken, and undermining honesty for the sake of controlling the narrative seems a rather dubious strategy, if you ask me.

In the end, creators are being urged to prioritise transparency over corporate demands, as the community can only thrive through authenticity. After all, nobody fancies a world where integrity takes a back seat to profit.
