Product Name: Elrs Receiver On Axis Flying Manta 5 Se
Brand: Axis Flying
Dear Unmanned Tech Support,
I recently purchased the Axis Flying Manta 5 SE quadcopter from you, and I’m experiencing issues with the ELRS receiver that came pre-installed.
I’m using a Radiomaster Boxer with the ELRS 2.4GHz, running at a 100Hz packet rate and a telemetry ratio of 1:4, max power 1W Both the transmitter and receiver have been updated to the same version of ELRS firmware using the ExpressLRS Configurator.
The problem I’m encountering is that the receiver appears to be losing signal randomly, even at relatively short distances. I’m using dynamic power on the transmitter, but the output power is not increasing in time to maintain the link. I’ve observed it dropping from 1W to 50mW without reason, leading to complete signal loss.
For context, I’ve used the same transmitter with other ELRS receivers on my fixed-wing aircraft with no issues — I typically achieve stable control out to around 5 miles.
Additionally, while flashing the receiver, I used the “AxisFlying Thor 2.4GHz RX” target in the ExpressLRS Configurator, assuming it’s correct based on available information. However, I haven’t been able to find any clear documentation confirming the exact model of the receiver that comes with the Manta 5 SE. It’s possible that this could be contributing to the communication issues if it’s not the appropriate firmware target.
To demonstrate the issue, I’ve uploaded a video showing the power scaling and inconsistent signal behaviour:
Could you please confirm:
• Whether the “Thor 2.4GHz RX” is the correct target for this receiver
• If there are known issues or recommended fixes for this behaviour
• Whether the receiver could potentially be faulty
I’d appreciate your guidance on resolving this, as I’d really like to get the Manta 5 SE flying reliably.
Best regards,
Tom
