Mads Tech has taken the iFlight Nazgul Evoque V3 for a spin and, in typical understated fashion, declared it the best off-the-shelf 5-inch Bind-and-Fly (BNF) drone. With a reworked dual-geometry frame and preinstalled DJI O4 Pro, it promises smooth sailing—unless your flying conditions rival those of a blustery Sunday in Blackpool. The Evoque V3 is built on solid foundations, retaining its Nazgul roots while sporting just about everything new, save for the motors.
The frame includes an aluminium camera cage and nifty airflow channels to keep things cool, while the onboard electronics boast a Borg Mini F7 stack. But beware! Firmware enthusiasts are advised to hold off on flashing anything straight out of the box, as iFlight has thoughtfully preconfigured the settings. A simple oversight could lead to doing an impression of a brick rather than a drone.
For a price that starts around $599 (with various options to lighten your wallet even further), you might just find that this premium product justifies its premium price tag—assuming you’re after plug-and-play convenience over DIY tinkering. Just be mindful of that anti-spark feature now integrated into the ESC; it’s all fun and games until it decides to play up.
If you’re looking for a cinematic experience without the fuss, the Evoque V3 may well be the ticket. Just remember to check your failsafe settings before launching; we wouldn’t want your drone to take an unexpected dip into the nearest hedge.
