The Flywoo Explorer LR 4-inch drone is here, flaunting its sub-250g weight while promising some rather commendable flight times. Rimzler took it for a jaunt and discovered that while it’s not the speediest of drones, it excels at long-range efficiency—perfect for those who prefer cruising at a leisurely pace rather than racing around like a headless chicken.
Upon unboxing, it’s evident Flywoo has put thought into the accessories, including a generous stash of spare parts. The drone boasts a soft TPU canopy for the DJI O4 Pro camera, and with a total weight of about 177 grams when equipped, it comfortably accommodates a 750mAh battery for over ten minutes of flight time. However, don’t expect any freestyle antics; this one’s more about stability and endurance, even if it feels a tad sluggish on the controls.
Rimzler’s test flights showcased its gentle nature, revealing some minor GPS hiccups and a rather flat camera angle that’s less than ideal for quick maneuvers. But if you’re after a reliable machine for extended jaunts rather than aerobatics, this could well be your ticket to the skies. Just don’t forget that with great endurance comes a few quirks that may require a bit of tinkering.
So, if long-range cruising with an FPV drone that prioritises battery life over agility sounds like your cup of tea, the Flywoo Explorer LR might just tickle your fancy. And if you fancy a deeper dive into its performance, do have a gander at the video linked below.
