Autopilots and Gyros

Hi everyone!
I am joining an international UAV competition and I am planning to build a tilt rotor air vehicle. So I decided to use PixFalcon Autopilot for my vehicle to do the missions in the competition. My question is about gyros, do I have to use gyro also? Or PixFalcon Autopilot is enough? Can PixFalcon Autopilot do what gyro does?
