Hey people! So, a quick update. I finally finished building all the arms and wiring up all the components. Also, the motors are all here at last.
One thing I did not anticipate was just how strong the arm design I used would be. I was abit skeptical about the joint mechanism that connects to the body, but to my amazement, it is actually quite sturdy, with zero flex or bending!
All the carbon fiber pieces are cut from a 2.2mm sheet made using hand-layup of 7 layers of carbon cloth in a 45/90 degree configuration, giving the chassis strength in all directions. The AUW of the chassis (without battery and propellers) is 1740g, which is not bad for such a strong 750mm frame.

Next step is to install the 16 inch propellers and run some hover endurance tests with the 4000mAH 5S battery. The previous drone managed 12min 36sec so I’m definitely expecting more out of this quad. Stay tuned!
