Tattu R-Line V6 Battery Review: New FPV Power Packs Put to the Test (El Reg test)

This is a companion topic for our recent blog post on blog.unmanned.tech

Tattu has rolled out its R-Line V6 battery packs, and they’re claiming a serious upgrade over the previous V5 generation. With two capacities—1480mAh and 1600mAh—and options in stick or square shapes, these batteries promise better energy density (up by 11-18%) and power density (20-40% higher). They’ve even managed to keep performance levels neck-and-neck with SMC Racing’s finest, which is no small feat.

Testing shows that while the cells stay reasonably cool under load, those pesky connectors can get rather toasty, hitting dangerously high temperatures during bursts. So, if you fancy yourself a thrill-seeker, do ensure you’ve got some airflow to avoid a potential meltdown—after all, we wouldn’t want your drone to turn into a fiery comet.

For those pondering the weight difference, the new packs are lighter than their V5 counterparts, allowing a bit more flexibility in your drone setup without requiring a workout to lift it. The TL;DR? If you’re after reliability and power without the heft, these might just tickle your fancy.
