Hoarder Sam has taken the diminutive route in the FPV hobby, crafting a BetaFPV Air 65 that’s as tiny as it is fiddly. With a motor spacing of 22mm and a weight of just 25g, it fits snugly in a Pringles can for those moments when you fancy a snack and an aerial adventure at the same time.
The drone boasts overlapping props and a custom 3D-printed frame that, while a marvel of engineering, might require a touch of patience (and perhaps a magnifying glass) to assemble. Don’t expect to waltz into this build without a proper kit though; tiny screws and hand drills are essential, making this more suitable for seasoned builders than weekend warriors.
Flight times hover between 2–3 minutes with Lava 300 batteries, dipping to 1–2 minutes with the lighter Lava 260. Just bear in mind, this is less about practicality and more an experiment in how small we can go before it becomes utterly ridiculous.
For the curious, Sam’s documented his escapades and is offering up the necessary STL files for your own attempts at miniature madness. Dive into the full rundown and marvel at the detailed process over on his blog.
