Spider Sugar has managed to squeeze a whole lot of flight into two remarkably tiny drones from MultiBuild, both of which are fully 3D-printed. One is an analog featherweight at a mere 15.5g, while the other, a bit taller and more demanding, runs on the DJI 04 Air Unit. Despite their size, these pocket rockets fly surprisingly well—who knew something smaller than your last takeaway could handle the skies?
The build quality is as minimalist as it gets, essentially flying microchips encased in TPU. Both models accept a single 1S battery, with options to choose between 350mAh and 450mAh packs. The analogue unit offers smooth, cinematic flights, while the DJI version brings a dash of HD capability for those who fancy a bit of pizzazz in their FPV experience. Just make sure not to attempt aerial acrobatics over water unless you fancy a swim.
For those keen on building their own, the complete kits are available on Etsy, which is quite splendid if you’re not keen on diving into CAD work. Just remember: open props and delicate landings require a touch of finesse—nobody wants to crush their new toy with a botched landing.
In summary, these drones prove that good things do come in small packages. Whether you’re after the charm of a classic tiny-whoop or the sleek thrill of HD, there’s something here to tickle your fancy, all while keeping you on your toes about local drone regulations.
