DJI O4 & O4 Pro Stuck at 15Mbps Bitrate Issue Explained & Workaround - DJI Fix This!

This is a companion topic for our recent blog post on blog.unmanned.tech

It seems our chums over at DJI have left O4 users in a bit of a pickle with their bitrate woes. The unfortunate cap at 15 Mbps—especially when using the ham file—is rather like having a splendidly brewed cup of tea and then discovering it’s gone cold. This issue primarily affects those with the O4 Pro or Lite combined with the DJI Goggles 2 or Integra. No permanent remedy in sight, but fear not; there are a few workarounds you can try, such as resetting your goggles or switching to manual channel mode.

Now, if you’re scratching your head over what this “ham file” is all about, it’s essentially a workaround intended for FCC-level performance in CE areas. Regrettably, instead of soaring to the expected heights of 50 Mbps, users are left hovering around 15-31 Mbps. It’s enough to make you want to throw the remote out the window—but please, don’t.

For those who enjoy living on the edge, switching to manual channel mode might just improve your situation, although you’ll lose that lovely automatic functionality. Just remember: tinkering with settings in less-than-ideal signal areas could lead to further complications, much like trying to navigate the London Underground during rush hour.

Lastly, brace yourself for the long haul. Given that this is an unofficial feature, it’s unlikely DJI will swoop in to save the day anytime soon. Many users have started eyeing the newer DJI Goggles 3 for a smoother experience. In the meantime, stay safe and try not to take your frustrations out on your drone.
