Painless360 has done a rather splendid job of giving the TBS Chupito a makeover that even your mother-in-law would approve of. He’s gone and made the tail removable—yes, you heard that right—so you can now swap out the motor tray without resorting to some sort of foam surgery. With carbon spars and magnets for a click-fit, it’s all rather elegantly designed, which is a bit of a departure from how most of us fumble about in the shed.
In terms of assembly, it appears that wing control surface fitting is straightforward enough, provided you follow Painless’s sage advice about servo placement. He’s even thrown in some technical wizardry regarding INAV tuning, managing to dial back the servo throws for a more relaxed flying experience. Because let’s face it, we all know someone whose idea of “aggressive flipping” is just an invitation for disaster.
As for the electronics, they’ve been neatly stuffed into the nose, with a Walksnail HD unit squeezed in there like it’s an overstuffed sausage. Painless360 has also shared a few crucial tips, such as the importance of thread-locking those pesky motor mount screws—because who wants a mid-air surprise?
For those curious to see his handiwork in action, you can catch the full build video where he goes through the process step-by-step. It’s practically a masterclass in not making a complete hash of it.
