Painless360 has cautiously re-entered the realm of VTOLs with the ArgusFPV ROC Wing, a tilt-rotor design that may just restore his faith after a rather turbulent 2023. After a series of unfortunate events involving the HEE Wing Ranger T1 — think less Top Gun and more Foam Gone Wrong — he’s been swayed back by promises of factory testing and an ArduPilot-friendly setup. Spoiler alert: he’s still keeping his fingers crossed.
The ROC Wing boasts some impressive specs, including a wingspan of approximately 1.2m and a recommended battery of 6S LiPo around 6000 mAh. The build quality? Well, it’s a mix of EPP foam with a hint of carbon, which certainly doesn’t scream “fragile”. Painless360 was pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful packaging and ease of assembly; it seems they’ve actually put some effort into it this time.
In true Painless360 fashion, he’ll be conducting a thorough test plan focusing on hover, transition, and cruise performance — because nothing says “trust me” like a precarious balance between flight modes. He’s also planning to fit ExpressLRS for control, but let’s not rush into mounting expensive FPV gear just yet.
For those keen on joining his journey or simply reliving his trials and tribulations from the comfort of your own armchair, you can find more details in the original video linked below.
