Ideally running the same on the quad and googles would be best.
Pagoda on both would work best if they are both RH polarized.
A dipole and pagoda will work. Just not as well as two matching antennas.

Yeah you will need to use the same type of antenna on both the quad and your goggles. Doesnāt matter if they are different antennas, but what matters is that both antennas are have the same lh/rh circular polarization. As you canāt use a rhcp antenna with a lhcp antenna.
What most people do if they have a diversity reciever is use a patch and pagoda style antenna to get good coverage overall and longer range in the direction of the patch antenna
The duck and helical antennas seem to have the same structure, just duck is long and thin while helical is short and wide. In the following screenshot the internals of the two are side by side.
Hi there friend,I love going to a new site and getting a lot of the answers Iāve been scouring around for answered all in One place, weāll most ,I love the dedication and the willingness to help others at times this hobby can be daunting, and if you donāt look out for all the rabbit holes youāre for sure going to end up at the bottom of a few, hey but thatās part of the learning curve right? I have a quick question, Iāve just purchased the sky zone sky040 pro goggles, Iām looking to upgrade the stock antennas, somewhere middle of the road for now ,I fly mostly freestyle, some gates, bandos , weāll now with the new goggles I will be,lol. A mix of it all do you have any recommendations of a decent combo set that will perform well that I can upgrade too? Thank you I would appreciate any info at all? Happy flying!
