FpV drone goggles that behave like VR headsets — Antigravity A1 Vision

This is a companion topic for our recent blog post on blog.unmanned.tech

Mads Tech took a good, hard look at the Antigravity A1 Vision goggles, and surprise, surprise—they’ve delivered something that might just redefine your FPV experience. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill goggles; they’re more akin to VR headsets, boasting pancake optics and a clever multi-band wireless setup all wrapped up in a not-so-compact package. Let’s face it, if you’re not flying an Antigravity A1, you might as well be trying to use a fork to eat soup.

Key specs? We’re talking 2560×2560 OLEDs, a stitched 360° view, and an onboard DVR that saves audio in a format that only a mother could love—good luck with that editing. Sure, latency is around 150 ms, which is perfectly adequate for cruising but may leave those racing enthusiasts feeling a tad underwhelmed. The fit and finish are pretty decent, though the strap feels like it was designed for someone with a head made of mithril—stiff and requiring a good toss if you’re planning on a long session.

Now, don’t get too excited if you were hoping for cross-compatibility; these goggles are firmly tied to the Antigravity ecosystem. It’s a bit like being invited to a party where everyone is wearing the same outfit, and you’ve rocked up in last year’s fashion. Despite this, it’s refreshing to see a small company stepping up to challenge the big boys, proving that high-quality gear doesn’t always come from the usual suspects.

In short, if cinematic flying is your jam, the A1 Vision might just become your new best mate. Just remember, if you fancy racing, you might want to keep looking elsewhere.
