DollyFly16 from Sub250 review

This is a companion topic for our recent blog post on blog.unmanned.tech

Nick Burns has given us the lowdown on the DollyFly16 from GepRC’s Sub250 range, and, surprising absolutely no one, it’s not just another shiny toy. This little marvel comes packed with the O4 Pro and RockSteady tech, all while keeping itself under the 250g mark. That’s right – expectations for FPV just got a hefty upgrade.

For those of you who fancy a bit of cinematic flair in your flights, the DollyFly16 is a strong contender with a price tag starting at around $109 (without O4) or $379 if you fancy the full package. While it handles wind like a pro and even has a penchant for indoor whistling, a bit of routine maintenance will be your new best friend. Just don’t forget to keep some dental floss handy for those pesky props that tend to fly off during turtle recoveries—because, why wouldn’t you want a DIY fix to keep things interesting?

Specs-wise, we’re looking at a Taker F411 AIO FC and 1103 motors that make this bird zippy enough for some aggressive flying, though do mind the rubber-mounted camera which can get a bit jiggy at speed. So yes, it’s flexible, but perhaps not entirely out of the woods if you’re aiming for peak performance without a few quirks.

In summary, the DollyFly16 is an amusing little gadget that may require some compromises but promises to deliver solid HD cinematic captures for the discerning FPV pilot. Just remember, with great power comes… well, a bit of tinkering.
