Broken soldering iron TS101

My ts101 soldering iron does not heat anymore. You select heat mode and then it doesn’t heat and says no tip even with the tip inserted in it. To repeat insert tip screw down screw and power on then select heat mode.

Sorry to hear about this, If you pull the tip out of the soldering iron can you check the contacts to make sure they are not bent, or that they are making good contact with the tip? As the issue could be that the tip is broken, or the contacts on the main body of the TS101 has an issue, so narrowing down the source would help to know what needs replacing.

Do you have any spare tips you can test to narrow down the cause?

Otherwise, I have sent a request over the the manufacturer and will update you as soon as we have a response, but we will try to get this issue resolved for you!

Hiya. The tip was making good contact with the pins and I made sure there was no debris obstructing contact. There was still no sign of it working. I also don’t have any spare tips.

Thanks for confirming, we are just waiting on confirmation from the manufacturer and will update you as soon as we hear back. If the think its the tip then we will get a replacement sent out to you, otherwise if its the main unit then its likely it will need to be returned for replacement.

Just to update you, the manufacturer has asked for the serial number so they can apply a replacement soldering tip for you. Would it be possible to let me know what it is, either in text or via a photo?

The video below shows how you can get the serial number for the TS101 soldering Iron.

There wasnt a serial number where the video said but the warranty card had a serial number of MT1XB18775

I am very sorry about the delays with this, usually its not so difficult, but now the manufacturer is asking for yet another photo! So if you can send one showing the serial number on the tip that will be great so we can get a replacement sent from them.

However for now I have arranged to send you a replacement, so if you can send that photo it will be greatly appreciated so we can get our replacement from the factory!.
