Betaflight installation error & pasting dff file from 3.5 to 4.0.2

Question : Should I leave out the serial numbers line also ? I have been told not to paste that line also ?
If you could give me your input on the question about the dyn notch quality as well I’d greatly appreciate it.
I’m setting down to work on it after review from you .

I JUST GOT ONE OF THE LATEST UPDATED VERSIONS OF THE DIATONE RABBIT NX !!! It’s my second one . I had the older version of this model.
I knew it was out for delivery so I went on gethub to download the latest version of Bettaflight configurator. Then I had this problem with the download !!! :rage::angry::angry::angry::exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head: .
I’m hoping it was just the file from gethub.

The error occured because your Windows system is/was missing the file “ nw_elf.dll ”.
This can have several reasons. It is possible that you dont have it because Windows 7 does not support it. (Could be… Just try it out)
If thats the case look for a Windows 7 compatible Betaflight version.
OR:
If you dont have a PC in range that is capable of running Betaflight:
-Try using a virtual machine and load linux on it. Its free and most distributions are capable of running Betaflight.
OR:
-Download Betaflight on your Smartphone (I think it is called Speedybee) and use a OTG cable to connect your phone to the flight controller. It depends on the FC but you will maybe have to power the FC seperatly.

Wow thanks for all the tips & tricks suggestions!! :+1:I have a bunch to look up and study now !!! I was not aware you could use a smart phone.

I got it all worked out. I just had to use Internet explorer to do the install.
It’s always work with betaflight so far it’s just a little slow on a starter.

I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION :
I have since flashed betaflight 4.0.2 after getting the configurator all worked out. I want to paste a tune that Diatone has sent me. I have been told not to paste since I’m coming from betaflight 3.5.1. That’s what the quad copter had in it from the factory.
So my question is: How do I enter the tune line by line ? : A CLEAN INSTALL AS THEY SAY::

Just try to maybe only take the receiver settings over and spend some time tuning the rest by yourself.
You will learn a lot and flying will feel better with your own tuned stuff :wink: (believe me on this one)

In summation my question is can I copy and paste this file after editing out PID settings, filter settings ?

You can paste it - but you will need to edit it slightly first so that your quad doesn’t try to kill you - or fly to the moon.

Just remove everything between the
# profile
And
# rateprofile

Lines - then paste it as normal - this will remove the PID and filter settings that are dangerous to copy from 3.5 -> 4.0
